** IMPORTANT: NEW RECYCLING REQUIREMENTS **

A new condition of rental is that all visitors sort their waste and recycling appropriately.  Pityoulish can be fined by Highland Council if recyclable waste is not separated.  If this condition is breached, the deposit may be withheld.  Please recycle tins, paper, hard plastic, glass, in the appropriate bins in your cottage.  On the last day of your stay they should be taken to the recycling bins at the entrance to Pityoulish Drive.  Please ensure all recyclable items are reasonably clean.

Accessibility

Accessibility of the Cottages for those with mobility or sight difficulties varies. Westcroftmore and The Grieves are the best-suited - but both have limitations.  Please do phone if you have specific requirements and we'll do our very best to accommodate you.

Parking

All houses and cottages have parking alongside for at least two cars.

Facilities

Cottages are equipped with a washing machine, television, and cleaning equipment, kitchenware, etc... as standard. Bedlinen and towels are provided. Most cottages have a drying room or area.

Smoking

Due to smoking legislation, and the comfort of other visitors, guests are reminded that all of the cottages are smokefree.

Signal reception

Due to the mountains and remote nature of our cottages, television and mobile telephone reception is variable but generally usable.

Water supply

The cottages are fed by a private water supply. Due to the water being sourced from the mountains, heavy rain and other environmental factors can affect it. Currently, water feeding the kitchen sink in each cottage is purified with an ultraviolet filter.  Water from the bathroom basins should, as normal, not be used for drinking or food, or brushing teeth. Some guests prefer to use bottled water, and a complimentary bottle is provided on your arrival.

The water supply is being upgraded to conform to current EU standards.

Drainage

Drainage is not mains drainage and therefore the system cannot compete with sanitary ware, babies' nappies, or biological washing powders. Only items labelled 'safe for septic tanks' may be used.

Take care!

Whilst the Cairngorms is a beautiful place, as with any environment there are risks.  Pityoulish is unable to accept liability for any activity or outdoor activity you may undertake on the Estate (including but not limited to swimming, trekking, climbing). You may wish to obtain appropriate insurance if you are partaking in certain sports or activities. Remember to be careful in the mountains, conditions, visibility, and temperatures can change suddenly, ensure people know where and when you are going, and ensure you have adequate warm clothing, food and equipment. Follow the Countryside code, close gates, and remember that rivers and lochs that seem calm can have dangerous undercurrents.
